New Water Treatment Plant

FRC and PGPRC implement high standards in occupational health, safety, environment and community relations. They constantly construct and improve their wastewater facilities in order to comply with the local regulations. WITCO Construction constructed 2 water treatment plants for PGPRC in 2014 and 2016. Bolted prefabricated steel members were delivered from Africa and installed by WITCO Construction. WITCO completed the civil works, mechanical works, architectural works, structural steel and two (2) units lead nitrate tanks for this project.

Fuel Oil Storage Horizontal Tanks

LOCATION: Zuellig Building, Makati City

In 2010, WITCO Construction successfully supplied and delivered six (6) units fuel oil storage horizontal tanks with dimensions 2.4mØ x 6.0m for the standby power generators of the Zuellig Building Project. The scope of works includes design, supply, fabrication, blasting, painting, delivery and installation of the tanks.

In 2012, Enerthrust Inc. awarded another project for WITCO Construction – supply, fabrication, blasting, painting, assembly & installation of two (2) units 2.5MØ x 6.1M and two (2) units 2.5mØ x 4.8M fuel oil storage horizontal tanks for the One Shangri-la Place Project.

Site Return Water Tank

LOCATION: Runruno Gold-Molybdenum Project, Brgy. Runruno, Nueva Viscaya

In 2014, WITCO Construction was awarded the Runruno Gold-Molybdenum Project Civil Works Package. One of the additional works awarded to the company was to construction the carbon steel site return water tank 20m in diameter and 12.5m high. The scope of works includes supply, fabrication and installation of the tank.

Six (6) Stainless Steel Fabricated Tanks

LOCATION: Runruno Gold-Molybdenum Project, Brgy. Runruno, Nueva Viscaya

In 2014, WITCO Construction was awarded the Runruno Gold-Molybdenum Project Civil Works Package. One of the additional works awarded to the company was the supply of six (6) stainless steel tanks for the process plant & infrastructure reagents area: IRL Solution Tank (2.29mφx2.14m), Activator Mixing Tank, Activator Storage Tank (1.5mφx1.26m), SMBS Mixing Tank (2.9mφx3.05m), SMBS Storage Tank (2.5mφx3.745m) and the Biox Nutrient Rich Tank (2.8mφx3.7m). In order to expedite the completion, the small tanks were fabricated and tested at WITCO shop and delivered to the site ready for installation.

Caustic Soda Tank

LOCATION: MPIGC Panay Power Expansion Project, La Paz, Iloilo

To solve the 2003 power crisis in Visayas, Philippines, Mirant Global Corporation (MGC) expanded the 72-megawhat (MW) diesel-fired Panay Power Corp. (PPC) plant in La Paz by another 40MW. WITCO Construction was contracted by MPIGC in the Panay Power Plant Expansion Project to supply, fabricate and erect steel structures such as twin smokestacks and structural towers and the 200m 3 capacity stainless steel caustic soda tank.

Sulfuric Acid Tank

LOCATION: Masbate Gold Project (MGP), Brgy Puro, Arorory, Masbate

In 2012, WITCO was awarded the contract to fabricate and erect the 500 tons capacity, 13.86mφx7.6m carbon steel tank, foundation and bundwall.

McMai was the sulfuric acid supplier in the gold processing plant. In 2016, in order to serve the high demand of the growing processing plant, McMai awarded WITCO the contract to build a 2nd Sulfuric Acid Tank in the area.

Carbon-in Leach (CIL) and Pre-Aeration in Leach (PL) Tanks

Leighton Contractors Asia Ltd. (LCAL) was awarded as the main contractor for the biggest gold mining operation in the Philippines – the Masbate Gold Project (MGP). In 2008, LCAL subcontracted WITCO for the erection and installation of various steel and concrete structures including eight (8) units 16mφx16m Carbon-in-Leach Tanks.

As the main contract with LCAL came into completion, PGPRC awarded various small projects directly to WITCO Construction which includes the design and build of Sulfuric Acid Tank and FRC Warehouse. WITCO continued to remain in MGP, performing various maintenance works and facilities upgrade.

In 2014, PGPRC decided to increase its gold production by increasing the percentage of gold extracted from the raw materials. The 6.5 MTPA Upgrade which includes additional 4 CIL tanks, 2 PL Tanks and other improvements in the plant was awarded through negotiations with WITCO Construction. The project was successfully completed on time and with the right quality in 2016. Currently, WITCO serves to be the main contractor in MGP working on the 8MTPA Upgrade-Ball Mill #3 Upgrade which will further increase the mill capacity from 6.5 million tons per annum (MTPA) to 8 MTPA.

Palau Tank 5

LOCATION: Shell Palau Terminal, Malakal, Koror, Republic of Palau

In 2007, WITCO successfully constructed Shell’s 5th oil tank in Palau. The automotive diesel storage tank features a 35,000 barrel or 6-million-liter capacity, 25mφ and 12.6m in height. It was one of the most modern in the world back in 2007 and was featured in various local publications.

This is WITCO’s first major international project. While the Manila Team was working on the procurement, steel fabrication and logistics; the Palau team was constructing the civil works, erection and installation of the oil tank, lube warehouse and other related structures. WITCO was awarded a safety milestone of 1,000,000 safe work hours for this project.
